ASHI® standards

The American Society of Home Inspectors has developed the leading set of standards for home inspectors in the United States. These standards cover not only the technical areas of the inspection, but also important issues regarding the professional ethics for home inspectors.

The standards of practice of the American Society of Home Inspectors have been adopted as one of only two standards recognized by the State of California as meeting the standard of care required of a home inspection. The standard of care law may be found in the California Business and Professional Code 7195.
